import advice

My V-ray will only allow me to import materials in .vismat format...can anyone give me any advice on how to import .mat ?? thanks

If your Vray can only import .vismat format (more accurately, your 3D modelling software, not Vray), that means none of the material from this site can be used directly in your 3D modelling software.

You can search for a .vismat to .mat converter (not sure whether there's still any working link to download it, it's a freeware). As all materials in this site are for Vray for 3DS Max (currently, but will add more soon), you must convert .mat to other formats if you want to use them in softwares other than 3DS Max.

thanks for the advice but I'm using v-ray for Rhino (not 3d max) hence the format problems......
